ROUNDUP: Chris Pappas Criss-Crosses New Hampshire to Hear How Donald Trump’s Agenda is Hurting Granite Staters
MANCHESTER, NH – Congressman Chris Pappas criss-crossed the state to hear directly from people in New Hampshire about how Donald Trump’s agenda is hurting Granite Staters.
Donald Trump’s budget bill, which was signed into law earlier this month, will take health care away from more than 46,000 Granite Staters and jeopardize access to food assistance programs that help thousands more feed their families.
Small businesses, which are the backbone of New Hampshire’s economy, are also being squeezed by Trump’s tariffs and trade war with Canada, the state’s closest international trading partner. Last week, Trump threatened to impose 35 percent tariffs starting on August 1 on “more than half of Canada’s exports to the United States,” adding further strain to businesses and consumers.
While Granite Staters who are already struggling to make ends meet will have to decide between paying medical bills and putting food on the table, “the wealthiest Americans” will get a massive tax break.
Chris Pappas will continue to hold the Trump administration accountable, fight for the programs that help Granite Staters access critical, life-saving health care and put food on the table, and deliver results for the people of New Hampshire.
Berlin, New Hampshire
During a roundtable discussion in Berlin, Congressman Pappas heard directly from medical providers and community leaders who are deeply concerned about the cuts to Medicaid in Trump’s budget bill. In addition to taking health care away from more than 46,000 Granite Staters, the bill threatens the future of community health centers across the state.
Congressman Pappas has sounded the alarm about the impacts of Trump’s budget bill and will continue to fight for Granite Staters and their access to affordable health care.

Gorham, New Hampshire
Congressman Pappas visited the Gorham Community Learning Center, which offers high-quality child care to the North Country. He toured the facility, which is being built with the help of federal grants, and will help expand desperately needed access to child care in the North Country.
This year, Congressman Pappas helped reintroduce the American Family Act, which would make the expanded monthly Child Tax Credit a permanent benefit for tens of thousands of families in New Hampshire.

Gilsum, New Hampshire
Congressman Pappas stopped by local small business Badger Balm with Senator Amy Klobuchar to hear from workers and company leaders about how Trump’s tariffs are causing chaos and threatening the livelihoods of local businesses and workers.
Congressman Pappas will continue to speak out against Trump’s chaotic tariffs and costly trade wars.

Keene, New Hampshire
During a downtown small business walk in Keene, Congressman Pappas, Senator Klobuchar, and State Senator Donovan Fenton heard directly from local shop owners at Synergy and Birdies.
As a small business owner himself, Congressman Pappas understands what it takes to keep small businesses running. In Congress, he’s championed initiatives to provide small businesses with access to capital, job training, and tax relief.
