ICYMI: Chris Pappas Visits Flight Coffee to Discuss How Donald Trump’s Tariffs are Impacting Small Businesses
GOFFSTOWN, NH – In case you missed it, Congressman Chris Pappas visited Flight Coffee in Goffstown this week to speak with owners Claudia and Jim Barrett about how Donald Trump’s tariffs are impacting their business.
Trump’s tariffs have increased costs for the Barretts on coffee and packaging, while the cost of labor and fuel continues to go up, creating an economic environment where small businesses like Flight Coffee have to absorb the costs. Eventually, small businesses are unable to absorb the costs and have to raise their prices.
Congressman Pappas is pushing legislation that would rein in Donald Trump’s indiscriminate, wide-sweeping tariffs announced earlier this year.
- The Small Business Liberation Act would exempt all small businesses, the backbone of our economy in New Hampshire, from the tariffs announced by the Trump administration on his so-called Liberation Day.
- The CANADA Act would exempt New Hampshire’s Main Street businesses from these disastrous tariffs with New Hampshire’s closest international trading partner, Canada.
Chris Pappas will continue to fight back against Donald Trump’s chaotic trade war and costly tariffs and he will always stand up for New Hampshire’s small businesses.
