ROUNDUP: Reproductive Rights Leaders Rally Behind Chris Pappas on Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

MANCHESTER, NH — As this week marks the 53rd anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, Congressman Chris Pappas is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Granite Staters, advocates, and reproductive health organizations across the Granite State in the fight to protect abortion access and women’s health care.

Pappas Endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund

Planned Parenthood Action Fund endorsed Chris Pappas for U.S. Senate and applauded his long history of protecting and prioritizing reproductive health care and reproductive rights.

“Chris Pappas has always stood up to anti-abortion politicians determined to roll back reproductive rights, and Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse his campaign for U.S. Senate,” said Planned Parenthood Action Fund President and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson. “Electing leaders like Chris Pappas who will fight relentlessly for reproductive health, rights, and justice is nonnegotiable, especially as they continue to face unprecedented attacks from Republicans in Washington. We cannot allow another politician opposed to our rights and freedoms continue wielding unchecked power and putting lives at risk — which is exactly why New Hampshire voters will put Chris Pappas in the U.S. Senate this November.”

Born and raised in the Granite State, Congressman Chris Pappas has served New Hampshire in Congress since 2019 and previously served three terms on New Hampshire’s Executive Council, where he voted to protect funding for Planned Parenthood. In December, Pappas was endorsed by Reproductive Freedom for All, highlighting his long track record of fighting for women’s reproductive rights.

Former Speaker of the NH House Terie Norelli Backs Pappas, Contrasts his Record of Supporting Reproductive Freedom with his Opponents’ Anti-Choice Records

Seacoast Online published an op-ed by New Hampshire Speaker of the House, Terie Norelli, highlighting Pappas’s leadership on reproductive justice. Norelli underscored Pappas’s longstanding record of fighting for Granite State women in Congress and taking action to protect reproductive freedom.

This Congress, Pappas helped introduce legislation including the Women’s Health Protection Act, the Restoring Essential Healthcare Act, and the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH) Act, reaffirming his dedication to defending and expanding reproductive freedom and his commitment to lowering health care costs for all Granite Staters.

Seacoast Online: Norelli: John Sununu’s return to politics threatens Granite Staters’ freedom

Last year, I wrote about how Scott Brown’s Senate campaign raised the stakes of the 2026 Senate race and threatened Granite Staters’ right to choose. Now, with just ten months until Election Day and a new Republican running for Senate, Granite Staters deserve to know why John Sununu’s candidacy raises the stakes even further — especially given the reports that Sununu is frantically trying to distort his record of attacking reproductive freedom.

I vividly remember why Sununu was labeled “plainly anti-abortion” when he was in Washington. There is too much on the line to let Sununu rewrite history when New Hampshire’s access to reproductive care hinges on one election.

For years, Sununu consistently opposed Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court case which, 53 years ago this week, gave thousands of women access to reproductive freedom. That’s why the National Right-to-Life Committee praised Sununu for voting in favor of their agenda 100% of the time, seizing every opportunity to limit access to family planning services and the life-saving care they provide.

From 1997 to 2003, when Sununu was in Congress, he voted against requiring hospitals to make emergency contraceptives and information available to rape victims and to require private plans to cover prescription contraceptives. He also voted against requiring federal health plans to cover prescription contraceptives if they covered other prescription drugs.

The same year, in 2003, he voted to approve the first abortion ban since Roe v. Wade was established, and even voted against adding an exception for the life or health of the mother.

His anti-choice crusade continued into the Senate, where, in 2007,he voted to cut funding for organizations like Planned Parenthood that provide vital reproductive health services for thousands of Granite Staters and millions of Americans.

Like his GOP competitor Scott Brown, Sununu is out of touch with the 77% of Granite Staters who support abortion access — and the stakes have never been higher.

Reproductive rights are on the line here in New Hampshire, where we love freedom so much we put it on our license plates. We deserve a leader in the U.S. Senate who will speak to our values and fiercely defend our reproductive freedom; someone who listens to Granite State women and fights for them in Congress. That leader is Congressman Chris Pappas.

While Sununu was one of the original anti-choice politicians of the twenty-first century, and Brown has made it clear he will rubber-stamp every anti-abortion policy the Trump administration supports, Pappas has consistently fought to protect access to reproductive health care.

Where Sununu voted for the judge that would eventually author the majority opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade, Pappas has worked tirelessly to restore Roe v. Wadeprotect funding for family planning organizations like Planned Parenthood, and ensure that women — not politicians — have the right to make decisions about their own bodies.

He has introduced and sponsored legislation to protect our veterans’ access to reproductive health care and guarantee every woman’s right to abortion and birth control. He doesn’t just talk about fighting for reproductive care — he can always be counted on to put in the work and lead the way. That’s precisely what Chris Pappas will do in the Senate.

A vote for Chris Pappas is a vote for trust, freedom, and the women of the Granite State. It’s a vote to keep Washington’s hands off our bodies.

Meanwhile, Scott Brown continues to cater to Trump’s increasingly extreme priorities and praises an administration that is determined to turn back the clock on women’s rights.

As for Sununu, his stance on reproductive freedom is no secret. From the very beginning, he’s been proudly opposed to abortion and birth control, and he’s not going to change. You know what they say about old dogs and new tricks.

New Hampshire rejected John Sununu and his extreme anti-abortion record 17 years ago, and we will do it again in November 2026. We don’t need an old dog or a rubber-stamp in the Senate. We need a leader. We need a fighter. We need Chris Pappas.
