NEW: Chris Pappas for Senate Outraises Entire GOP Field Again
Pappas raised $3.3 million in the first quarter, more than doubling his GOP opponents combined
MANCHESTER, NH — Newly released Q1 fundraising reports reveal that Congressman Chris Pappas raised nearly $1.9 million more than both of his Republican opponents combined. As reported by Politico, Pappas now heads into the summer stretch with a significant cash advantage over his GOP opponents.
FEC filings show John Sununu raised $1,119,288 — less than he raised last quarter — and Brown brought in a measly $321,366 while Pappas raised $3.3 million —more than double his GOP opponents combined. While Pappas has $4.2 million in his war chest, Sununu and Brown have an anemic $1,892,904 COH and $783,386 COH respectively.
“John Sununu’s spin was almost as pathetic as his Q1 report, and his desperate attempt to distract from his weak fundraising only emphasizes that momentum is on Chris Pappas’s side,” said Chris Pappas for Senate Campaign Manager Rachel Petri. “Granite Staters see John Sununu for what he is — a sellout who has spent his career serving corporate special interests and is now running to serve Donald Trump — and come November, they’ll send Chris to the U.S. Senate so he can keep fighting for New Hampshire, and they’ll send Sununu packing.”
Ninety-seven percent of Pappas’s contributions were $100 or less, the average online donation was $29.56, and $0 came from corporate PACs. In a show of growing momentum, nearly 40,000 new donors contributed to the campaign this quarter, bringing the total number of unique donors to nearly 95,000 since Pappas launched his campaign for Senate. Contributions came from supporters in 226 towns and cities across New Hampshire.
Pappas’s campaign also announced that it will be placing its general election TV ad reservations of nearly $9 million starting on September 8. The buy will be part of a sustained investment in the campaign. That along with the campaign’s emphasis on grassroots voter engagement will allow the campaign to communicate directly with Granite Staters on Pappas’s work to lower costs for New Hampshire families, stand up for small businesses, and take on anyone to do what’s best for New Hampshire.
