Recent letters to the editor published across the state underscore what voters across New Hampshire are seeing firsthand: While John Sununu is running to sell New Hampshire out to Donald Trump and corporate special interests, Chris Pappas is tackling the challenges families face every day and delivering real results for Granite Staters. Manchester Ink Link: The Soapbox: Pappas is fighting for veterans while Trump, Sununu fail them

By Paul J. Federico, 6/17/26

  • Donald Trump, John Sununu, and the rest of the MAGA cohort claim to care about veterans, but their actions say otherwise.
  • Last year, the Trump Administration killed a VA home loan program, which has helped about 20,000 veterans avoid foreclosure and keep their homes.
  • This is unacceptable. This is cruel. But this is not hopeless — Congressman Chris Pappas is fighting back.
  • Chris has always been in our veterans’ corner, and now he’s calling on the VA to immediately establish a foreclosure moratorium to ensure that no more veterans and their families lose their homes.
  • Chris knows that the men and women who have served our country — and their families who have sacrificed alongside them — should never have to worry about homelessness.
  • New Hampshire, we need to send a leader to the United States Senate who has been and always will be a fighter for our veterans and their families. That’s Chris Pappas.
  • We don’t need to send a corporate sellout who will rubber-stamp Trump’s agenda, even if it means throwing our veterans out on the streets. That’s John Sununu.
  • The Trump administration only talks about supporting our veterans. When in fact, they essentially do little or nothing. I’m of the opinion that another GOP administration and supporting House and Senate will also do nothing.
  • So I’ll be voting to make Chris Pappas our next Senator this November — and if you care about supporting our veterans, military families, and men and women in uniform, you should, too.

Caledonian Record: Housing Costs in New Hampshire – Reece Sharp

By Reece Sharp, 6/17/26

  • For many young people, the idea of owning a home feels less like the American Dream and more like a pipe dream.
  • There’s a reason why 88% of voters say it’s harder than ever to buy a home, according to a recent Bipartisan Policy Center poll. Housing costs are skyrocketing, wages aren’t keeping up, and inflation continues to drive up the cost of everyday life. Add student loan debt into the mix, and it’s no wonder so much of my generation feels like they’ve been locked out of the future we were promised.
  • We did everything we were told to do: work hard, get an education, build a career, save responsibly. But the goalposts keep moving, the odds are stacked against us, and owning our own home feels completely out of reach.
  • The government should be trying to help us achieve the American Dream, not throwing spikes on the road as young people try to make their dreams a reality.
  • Congressman Chris Pappas understands the urgency of this crisis, and he’s fighting to make housing more affordable for all Granite Staters.
  • Chris cosponsored the First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Act of 2025, legislation that would provide meaningful financial support for people trying to purchase their first home. But he also recognizes there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to the housing crisis. That’s why he’s working to increase the supply of affordable housing, cut unnecessary red tape that slows development, support homeowners and renters alike, and help end veteran homelessness.
  • And that’s just one piece of Congressman Pappas’s plan to tackle the housing crisis. He’s taking on this fight from all sides: supporting first-time homebuyers and current homeowners, creating more affordable housing and cutting red tape, and ending veteran homelessness.
  • As a young person who often feels like owning their own home is simply impossible, the work Congressman Pappas is doing gives me hope.
  • Chris is taking on this fight in the House, and he’ll take that fight to the U.S. Senate

Seacoastonline: Chris Pappas is focused on solutions for working families

By Mary McCarthy, 6/15/26

  • Our state is facing a severe housing shortage, and the growing influence of private equity firms buying up manufactured housing communities is only making the crisis worse, driving up costs and shrinking the supply of affordable homes.
  • While John Sununu cashed in with private equity executives, partnering with them in the private sector and accepting massive donations to his campaign, Congressman Chris Pappas is focused on delivering solutions for working families and standing up to corporate influence in the housing market.
  • That includes cosponsoring the bipartisan Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act, which would expand and strengthen the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit to help build more affordable housing and increase access for working families across New Hampshire.
  • So while special interest sellouts like John Sununu may talk a big game about solving the housing crisis, Chris Pappas is actually working to address it. In the U.S. Senate, he’ll continue fighting to expand affordable housing and put New Hampshire families first — that’s why I will be voting for him this November.

Seacoastonline: Chris Pappas is focused on lowering costs for NH families

By Paula Dempsey, 6/14/26

  • Here on New Hampshire’s Seacoast, we’re lucky to have many long-running, family-owned grocery stores that have served our communities for generations. These independent grocers help keep our local economy strong and make it easy for families to find fresh, high-quality ingredients close to home.
  • But like many shoppers, I’ve noticed grocery bills climbing higher and higher. Across the country, families are now paying hundreds more each year for basics like meat, produce, coffee, and other staples. A major driver has been Trump’s federal tariffs, which have put pressure on American farmers and made many kitchen staples more expensive to import — costs that add up at the checkout counter.
  • Granite Staters deserve representation in Washington that understands how these rising costs hit consumers and small businesses first and hardest. That’s why I’m proud to support Chris Pappas for U.S. Senate.
  • Pappas recently unveiled his plan to tackle the affordability crisis, lower costs, and cut taxes for New Hampshire families. He has also cosponsored the No Tariffs on Groceries Act, which would roll back tariffs on food items and help bring down prices for shoppers while supporting the independent grocers our communities rely on.
  • Small, family-run stores don’t have the buying power of national chains to absorb rising costs. When tariffs drive up prices, they’re forced to make impossible choices: raise prices for their neighbors or take the hit themselves. Neither option is sustainable for small business economies like New Hampshire’s.
  • New Hampshire families shouldn’t have to pay more for everyday necessities because of reckless trade policies. We need leaders who understand how rising costs affect both local businesses and the people who shop there.
  • Chris Pappas has shown he’s focused on lowering costs and standing up for New Hampshire’s communities, and that’s why he has my support.
