New Hampshire’s SEA/SEIU Local 1984 Endorses Chris Pappas for U.S. Senate

CONCORD, N.H. — The New Hampshire State Employees’ Association (SEA)/Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1984 today announced their endorsement of Congressman Chris Pappas for U.S. Senate, highlighting his commitment to standing up for workers, and making sure Granite Staters have a voice in Washington.

“Chris Pappas has earned the support of working people in New Hampshire through years of standing with us when it matters. From his time on the Executive Council to his service in Congress, Chris has consistently listened to workers, respected organized labor, and fought to protect the right to organize and bargain collectively,” said SEA/SEIU Local 1984 President Rich Gulla. “His support for the bipartisan Faster Labor Contracts Act is just the latest example. Chris understands that winning a union election should mean something—and that workers shouldn’t have to wait years for a first contract because an employer chooses to drag out the process. We know Chris. We know his record. And we know that when working people need someone in their corner, he shows up. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Chris Pappas for the United States Senate.”

The New Hampshire SEA/SEIU Local 1984 is the second largest labor union in the state and is committed to negotiating fair contracts for their members and advocating for workers and their families.

Chris Pappas has consistently stood with organized labor and working Granite Staters. He helped introduce and fought to pass the PRO Act in the House, legislation that would strengthen workers’ rights to organize and collectively bargain and hold corporations accountable for violating those rights. He also co-sponsored bipartisan legislation challenging the Trump Administration’s decision to strip union rights from one million federal workers.

Pappas has also been endorsed by Teamsters Local 633, the New Hampshire Building and Construction Trades Council, IBEWs across New Hampshire, the AFT-New Hampshire, North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, Heat and Frost Insulators Local 6, and IUPAT DC 35. In the U.S. Senate, Pappas will continue fighting to protect workers’ rights, strengthen the middle class, and secure safer working conditions, higher wages, and better benefits for Granite Staters.
