NEW: Granite Staters Paid $5,300+ More on Everyday Essentials Thanks to Sununu-Backed Trump Policies

MANCHESTER, N.H. — In case you missed it, a new report from the Joint Economic Committee found the average household in New Hampshire has had to pay an additional $5,300+ for goods and services due to rising costs under President Trump’s costly agenda backed by his hand-picked candidate for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire, John Sununu. 

Thanks to Trump’s tariff taxes, war of choice in Iran, and health care cuts Granite Staters are facing increased costs:

  • HOUSING: New Hampshire families have had to spend an additional $1,332 on housing costs such as rent and mortgage payments since President Trump took office.
  • HEALTH CARE: Monthly premiums for ACA plans increased 50 % on average in 2026 compared to last year. Deductibles surged to record highs, increasing by more than $1,000+ on average.
  • ENERGY: Since the beginning of the war, the average family in New Hampshire has spent an additional $840 in gas costs, an additional $334 on electricity in 2025 and the first 6 months of 2026, and families who use heating oil paid an additional $205 to heat their homes this March.
  • GROCERIES: Americans paid an additional $310 for groceries in President Trump’s first year than in 2024.

The report makes clear that Granite Staters can’t afford Donald Trump and his endorsed candidate John Sununu. Sununu welcomed Donald Trump’s complete and total endorsement and called this Senate race “important to President Trump’s agenda.” He’s fallen in line to back Trump’s disastrous health care cuts, costly tariff taxes, and war of choice in Iran driving up the price of everyday essentials.

Chris Pappas is fighting to lower costs. He helped pass the most significant federal housing law in decades, introduced the bill to suspend the federal gas tax to deliver relief at the pump, and he’s working to exempt New Hampshire small businesses from Trump’s trade war and to issue refunds to those that have already been forced to shoulder the costs. He opposed Trump’s Big Ugly Bill that cut Medicaid to fund billions in tax breaks to the ultrawealthy and handouts to Big Pharma and Big Oil and he’s fighting to roll back these cuts and lower health care costs.
