ICYMI: “The Senate Race Democrats Must Win” — Chris Pappas Joins The Borowitz Report And Highlights Stakes of This Election

MANCHESTER, N.H. — In case you missed it, Chris Pappas recently joined Granite Stater Andy Borowitz on The Borowitz Report to highlight the stakes of the U.S. Senate race in New Hampshire. Pappas highlighted how he’s working to lower costs for families, take on Donald Trump, and restore checks and balances. Pappas also made a strong case that Granite Staters are ready to turn the page on the broken politics of the past and build a freer, fairer future.

Chris Pappas on Why He’s Running

  • “I want to make life better for Granite Staters. I want to build a fairer economy that creates more opportunity and brings down costs. I want to take on this lawless president and restore checks and balances. And I want to fundamentally change the way that Washington works so that we are going after corruption, that we’re getting big money out of politics.”
  • “This feels like such a pivotal moment in American political history. We’re either going to continue down the path of Donald Trump and an imperial presidency that just is able to thumb its nose at the American people and not work on their problems, or this is going to be a renewal of American democracy, where people take back the power in their hands, and we’re able to get down to work and solve problems, and lower costs, and build more housing, and expand access to health care, expand access to child care — all the things that I’m hearing about all across New Hampshire.”

Chris Pappas On Why John Sununu is Wrong for New Hampshire

  • “I just think this is not a moment to reach back to the political past and pull someone out of it to be our senator again, who was already there before, and it didn’t work for New Hampshire. I mean, we saw this guy and what he stood for, and we drummed him out of office in 2008. Why, at this moment, would we take all that baggage, and then the fact that he’s standing with Donald Trump, and restore him to the position that he once had?”
  • “This is really about turning the page. We’ve got to turn the page on just the broken politics of the past and think about the new future that we can create. So I don’t think this is necessarily the moment where someone with a big political family dynasty is just going to rise to the top. I think this is a moment where people are going to want change in Washington, and leaders who represent a new generation of leadership for the U.S. Senate and and you know that’s that’s you know what we’re talking about across New Hampshire.”

Chris Pappas On What This Race Comes Down To

  • “It boils down to a pretty simple question: Do you think you’re better off than you were two years ago? Do you think our country is moving in the right direction? Do you believe that Donald Trump is giving us the leadership that we deserve as a country? And you know, if you say yes to those things, there are a whole set of candidates out there that are going to allow us to continue what’s been happening. But if you say no, which is a growing group of Americans, then there’s something we can do about it, and we need to vote for change this November.”
