Republican and Independent Granite Staters Announce “People Over Party” Coalition in Support of Chris Pappas

Manchester, N.H. - On Monday, October 28, Chris Pappas, registered Republicans, former Republicans, and independent Granite Staters held a press conference announcing their “People Over Party” coalition in support of Congressman Pappas’s reelection campaign.

“I’m proud to earn this support from a broad coalition of Republicans and independents, and I fundamentally believe public service should be about helping people and getting things done. I have a bipartisan track record in Washington because that’s how you can move legislation that will lower costs and make life better for Granite Staters. I’m proud our campaign is a home for commonsense-minded voters of all political stripes, and I will continue to work with a sense of common purpose and focus on how we can solve problems,” said Congressman Chris Pappas.

“The Congressman carries himself with grace and true interest. He is a man of integrity. His approach is one of service. He seeks to understand and support small business. He doesn’t engage in the nonsensical harsh rhetoric others inundate us with. He seeks to find balanced solutions and he gets things done. Congressman Pappas is the person New Hampshire must ensure remains in DC to be a key part of guiding this country forward,” said Mark Carpenter, founder and CEO of GenTent, independent.

“Chris works in a bipartisan fashion. He listens to everyone, not just his own party. He’s gotten us investments for our infrastructure, that you can see out on our roads being paved right now, and cost of living increases for veterans’ benefits. Congressman Chris Pappas was always there to listen and learn. He is the kind of representative that we need: the kind that listens to us,” said Claira Monier, a Republican and former Reagan administration official.

“I can’t endorse either party, but Chris never asked me to endorse a party. I know him, I have experience with him personally. Every time I’ve discussed issues with Chris, he’s responded with an intelligent approach and has tried to help. These days, trying to find people that will represent us, that we can be proud of, that will work across the aisle, is hard to do. I believe Chris Pappas has demonstrated that he will do that. He has earned my support and my respect,” said Dean Kamen, inventor and entrepreneur.

“Chris Pappas is exactly the kind of leader we need representing us in Washington. As a small business owner, he always does what's right for our state's small businesses and the people of New Hampshire. He's a no-nonsense leader who knows how to work across the aisle to get things done and I'm proud to support him for reelection," said Donna Hosmer, registered Republican.

Congressman Pappas has been named the most bipartisan Democratic member of Congress by the Lugar Center and the third most bipartisan member of the House overall. He was named the 14th most effective member of the House by the Center for Effective Lawmaking and was found to be one of the most independent members of Congress by CQ Roll Call.

On the Veterans Affairs Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, he has forged support across the aisle to pass historic legislation to provide veterans with the care they need and make long overdue investments in our nation’s infrastructure.
