Pappas Marks National Small Business Week with Plan to Cut Costs for NH Small Businesses
MANCHESTER, N.H. — This National Small Business Week, Chris Pappas for Senate is highlighting Congressman Chris Pappas’s record of standing up for Main Street — the backbone of New Hampshire’s economy. Pappas is fighting to deliver relief as small businesses face rising costs and economic uncertainty because of the Trump Administration’s agenda that only benefits corporate special interests and Trump’s billionaire backers.
Granite State small businesses are being squeezed by chaotic economic policies and costly trade wars that have driven up prices, disrupted supply chains, and made it harder to compete. Unlike large corporations, small businesses can’t absorb sudden cost increases or navigate volatile global markets — and Trump’s tariff refund system is leaving them out to dry.
That’s why Chris Pappas is taking action:
- Pappas introduced the Small Business RELIEF Act to exempt New Hampshire small businesses from global baseline and reciprocal tariffs and provide refunds to those already paying the price for Trump’s trade war.
- Pappas championed the CANADA Act to protect small businesses from harmful tariffs on one of New Hampshire’s most important trading partners.
- Pappas cosponsored the Prevent Tariff Abuse Act to limit Trump’s unilateral tariff authority and defend Congress’s constitutional role.
Chris knows what’s at stake because he’s lived it. Growing up working in his family’s restaurant in Manchester — washing dishes, scooping ice cream, and eventually managing the business — he learned firsthand what it takes to serve a community.
While Chris’s opponent John Sununu sides with corporate interests and supports Trump’s agenda that hurts small businesses, Chris is focused on lowering costs, leveling the playing field, and making sure New Hampshire’s small businesses can thrive.
This National Small Business Week, Chris is reaffirming his commitment to fight for the entrepreneurs, workers, and families who power New Hampshire’s economy — and that’s who he’ll continue to fight for in the U.S. Senate.
