NASHUA, N.H. — In case you missed it, former State Representative Manny Espitia penned an op-ed for Nashua Ink Link highlighting Congressman Chris Pappas’s work to lower costs for New Hampshire’s working families.

While John Sununu and Scott Brown continue to back Trump’s reckless agenda that is raising the price of everyday essentials, Chris is focused on lowering costs and putting money back in the pockets of hardworking Granite State families.

This spring, Chris Pappas for Senate rolled out its Tax Cuts and Lower Costs Blueprint for New Hampshire, a plan to tackle the affordability crisis, cut taxes for working families like Manny’s, and make it easier for Granite Staters to not only get by, but get ahead.

As a parent, you learn to roll with the punches. Spilled juice box in the car? No problem. Skinned knees at the playground? Band-aids at the ready. Last-minute science fair project? Late-night craft store run it is.

That’s just part of the job.

But lately, the challenges facing families like mine aren’t the every day bumps in the road. They’re bigger than that, they’re getting harder to manage, and they’re out of our control. Rising costs for groceries, child care, and everyday essentials are stretching family budgets to the breaking point, in New Hampshire and across the country.

Parents will always do whatever it takes to take care of their kids. But we shouldn’t have to do it alone.

We need people in Washington who understand what families are up against — and who are willing to fight to bring costs down so we can focus on raising our kids, not just getting by.

That’s why I’m proud to support Congressman Chris Pappas for U.S. Senate.

Chris is running to be a fighter for families like mine in Washington when out-of-touch politicians try to make life harder. He’s a Granite Stater through and through — born and raised in Manchester, working in his family’s restaurant, and attending public schools. He understands what it means to grow up in a working family here, and what it takes to build a life in New Hampshire today.

In Congress, Chris is laser-focused on lowering costs and putting money back in the pockets of working families. He helped reintroduce the American Family Act, which would permanently establish the expanded monthly Child Tax Credit and deliver direct relief where parents need it most. When prices feel out of reach, this tax cut would help families afford groceries, child care, and everyday essentials instead of struggling to pay for this administration’s reckless economic policies with every purchase.

Because right now, too many families are being squeezed by rising prices driven by Donald Trump’s reckless economic decisions — from costly tariffs to conflict abroad.

Chris Pappas is committed to taking those pressures families are facing head-on: rolling back harmful tariffs, lowering costs, and taking on the corporate special interests that are raising costs on us to boost their bottom line.

When I chose to make New Hampshire my home — the place to live, work, and raise my son — it was because I could picture a future for him here. A good life. A fair shot.

But for too many families, that future is starting to feel out of reach. Child care is harder to afford. Everyday expenses keep climbing. And the margin for error keeps shrinking.

Chris knows what’s at stake.

He knows that supporting families means tackling the cost-of-living crisis head-on. In the Senate, he’ll keep fighting to lower costs and make sure hardworking parents can not only get by, but get ahead.
