ICYMI: Pappas Fights to Lower Costs as New Report Shows Trump’s Iran War Has Cost Americans $56.4 Billion
MANCHESTER, N.H. — In case you missed it, a new report by the Joint Economic Committee found that Americans have now paid $56.4 billion more for gas since the start of Trump’s war of choice with Iran — an average of $559 per household in New Hampshire.
Additionally, recent data from the Center for American Progress shows that between February and July 2026:
- Crude oil is up 19.3% per barrel
- Natural gas is up 67% per megawatt hour
- Gasoline is up 29.5% per gallon
- Diesel is up 29.8% per gallon
- Heating oil is up 54.9% per gallon
As Granite Staters continue to grapple with high costs, Trump’s reckless policies — which John Sununu supports and profits from — are making it even more expensive to fill up the tank, get to work, take kids to camp, and make ends meet.
Congressman Chris Pappas is fighting to lower costs for New Hampshire families. Earlier this year, Pappas unveiled his Tax Cuts and Lower Costs Blueprint for New Hampshire, a legislative agenda aimed at making energy, health care, groceries, child care, and housing more affordable.
Pappas has also introduced the Gas Prices Relief Act of 2026, which would suspend the federal gas tax through October to provide immediate relief for Granite Staters and families across the country facing higher prices at the pump.
While Sununu profits from Trump Administration policies that are making life more expensive for Granite Staters, Chris Pappas is taking on the Trump Administration and corporate special interests and fighting to lower costs for New Hampshire families.
